The contractor shall provide all material, labor, supplies, equipment, transportation, superintendence, temporary construction of every nature, and services and facilities necessary to remove and replace the existing boilers and upgrade the building HVAC controls, including incidental work described in the Solicitation Package contract documents. The work includes, but is not limited to the removal of existing boilers and associated hardware and replacing with new scotch marine boilers, plumbing, fuel oil system, natural gas piping systems, chemical water treatment, hydronic piping and specialties, HVAC pumps, breechings, chimneys and stacks, air filters, and mechanical installation. In addition, the HVAC controls will include electronic (DDC) controls, basic electrical materials and methods, motor controllers, testing, adjusting and balancing. The project will be bid a single sum contract. Site access and construction areas will be limited. Extensive construction coordination and sequencing are required to ensure full time operation of the existing facility. Estimated construction cost range is between $1.25 and $1.65 million. The overall project performance time is 180 calendar days from the date of the Notice-to-Proceed. However, the boiler replacement portion of this project must be completed no later than September 1, 1998.
