This is a combined synopsis/solicitation. The US Department of Education is issuing a Request for Quotations for US Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board. The Government intends to award a fixed price Simplified Acquisition. ATBCB Access Board issued accessibility guidelines (36 CFR 1193) for accessibility, usability and compatibility of telecommunications equipment and customer premises equipment for individuals with disabilities. ATBCB Access Board requires assistance to develop two products which are considered necessary to provide technical assistance under section 255 of the Telecommunications Act and to develop information for future revisions to the Access Board's guidelines. The two products are: an introductory brochure to the law and guidelines that address the provisions of section 255 of the Telecommunications Act and a marketing report that should address the progress of making customer premises equipment and telecommunication equipment accessible and identify successful access solutions. This notice is intended for competitive proposals from Small Business concerns. All proposals received by 10:00am on 5/11/98 will be considered by the Government.
