SB/SDB/Women-owned Business Subcontractor Source Sought. Calspan Ames,
an operation of Veridian, is reviewing a draft RFP (RFP2-36564(RPG))
from NASA Ames Research Center (ARC) for Aerospace Testing and Facility
Operation/Maintenance. The company is seeking capabilities data from
small, small disadvantaged and women-owned businesses qualified to
provide facility engineering, facility operations, maintenance and
repair, instrumentation engineering and technical support, design, test
or project engineering services, test software development, data
acquisition and reduction in support of ARC's aeronautical systems
research and test programs. Specific services of interest are: Facility
Engineering; mechanical and electrical engineering services for
research facility systems and equipment including large rotating
machinery, pumps, cooling systems, lubrication systems, high voltage
switch-gear, high voltage substations and ancillary research/test
facility equipment. Facility Operation; maintenance and repair,
scheduled and unscheduled mechanical and electrical maintenance,
inspection, repair and operation of research facility equipment
including large rotating machinery, pumps,~ cooling systems,
lubricating systems, high voltage power distribution (2.3 115kv)
operation and maintenance and ancillary research/test facility
equipment. Instrumentation Engineering; engineering and technical
services such as: developing, specifying, fabricating and documenting
standard and non-standard instrumentation control systems,
sensor-to-controller interfaces and instrument-to-controller interface
configurations; designing and fabricating custom interfaces and
communication links between test-related hardware and data
acquisition/data reduction computers; and determining hardware and
software requirements for instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
Design Engineering; design, structural analysis, drafting services and
engineering support for wind tunnel models, test equipment and
research/test facility modifications. TestEngineering; planning,
preparation, installation, coordination and conduct of wind tunnel
tests including hardware and instrumentation systems installation, test
software development, test systems checkout, data acquisition and
reduction, data for research and test facilities modernization
restoration and recertification projects such as coordinating systems
design; preparing statements of work, test plans and project
documentation; planning and executing performance characterization and
integrated system testing. SB/SDB/Women-owned Small Business firms
