The Naval Air Systems Command F-14 Tomcat Program intends to negotiate and award a contract to Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) for the modification and delivery of 5 prototypes and 72 production configured Vertical Display Indicator Group (VDIG) Systems. This effort will include nonrecurring and recurring tasks required to modify and test existing VDIG system hardware and software. As the designer, developer and sole manufacturer of the F-14 aircraft, NGC is the only known source with the required knowledge and expertise of the aircraft configurations to successfully accomplish this effort within the required schedule parameters of the program.
