NASA/LeRC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Gai-Tronics Intercoms, 14 each Model D87073 wall mounted box, 4 each Model C90066 instrument panel rack mount. The intercom units must meet the following specifications: Intercom units must be compatible with existing GTE 4600 and Fujitsu 9600 telephone switches. Units must be of high quality industrial grade, case must be a metallic material. Units combine separate audio technologies into one device: 1. A stand alone headset based intercom system Gai-tronics Electro Sound II, 2. A party hand set station, consisting of one hard wired paging channel and four hard wired intercom channels, Gai-tronics Page party station, 3. Compatibility with existing Lewis telephone system with the ability to select one of four PAX lines and dial and receive calls. Dedicated headset intercom must have its own op-amp. Single push button must be provided for push to page and must also have local mute capabilities. A telephone keypad and four lighted PAX push buttons must be provided for telephone operations, and four lighted intercom push buttons must be provided for intercom operations. An Electro-Sound jack station must be provided for plug in maintenance talk-sound operation. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/LeRC intends to purchase the items from Gai-Tronics Inc. Justification to permit contracting with Gai-Tronics Inc. has been prepared using citation 10 USC 2304(c)(1)-Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Interested firms have 14 days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 14 days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
