The Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC) has a requirement for seismic station mission support (SSMS). The stations are Detachments (Dets) 313 (Sonseca, Spain) and 301 (Ankara, Turkey); and Equipment Location (EL) 079 (Cambridge Bay, Canada). The primary mission of these Dets/ELs is to collect and record seismic research data and to transmit this data in near real-time to the Atomic Energy Detection Center (AEDC) 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The contractor will provide services to operate, maintain, and support the seismic stations. These stations are part of the US Atomic Energy Detection System (USAEDS) network operated to monitor international weapons limitation treaties. Additionally, Dets 313 and 301 will become part of the International Monitoring System (IMS) under the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT). Contractor functions will encompass routine electronic maintenance, routine vehicle maintenance, controlling and accounting for equipment and supplies, requisitions, troubleshooting data communications equipment, maintaining a technical library, data and power line troubleshooting, routine and emergency intrasite communications maintenance, data recording and reporting, station equipment checks, and station calibrations. Additionally, there is a ground filter unit (GFU) at Det 301. The contractor will perform all functions at EL 079. Det 313 and 301 will be operated by host country personnel.
