The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to purchase ZYA Grade Highly Oriented Pyrolytic Graphite (HOPG) from Advanced Ceramics Corporation of Lakewood, Ohio on a sole source basis. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a quotation is being requested from Advanced Ceramics Corporation and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation number 53SBNB860046 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-04. This requirement is a total small business set-aside under SIC Code 3297 and the related size standard is 750 employees. The Contract Line Item Numbers (CLIN), quantities, and unit issue are as follows: CLIN 0001, ZYA Grade Highly Oriented Pyrolytic Graphite (HOPG); twenty-two (22) each. Each piece shall be: Mosaic spread of 0.4 degrees +/- 0.1 degree FWHM, Thickness of 2mm +/- 0.5mm, 20mm X 45mm. Delivery shall be FOB Destination, 60 days after contract award at NIST, Building 301, Shipping and Receiving, Gaithersburg, MD 20899.
