Poling, Contract Specialist, (202) 266-9552 The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) intends to issue a competitive Request for Proposal to: 1) prepare a comprehensive review of the "state of knowledge" about alcohol-impaired driving and traffic safety research; and on an as-needed basis 2) conduct literature reviews, and/or critical reviews on special highway safety topics determined by NHTSA, and prepare short reports on these chosen topics. The contractor shall develop a comprehensive search and screening strategy, obtain the appropriate documents (e.g., journal articles, technical reports, conference proceedings, books), read and critically review each document, and prepare a final report covering the state of the knowledge in alcohol-impaired driving and traffic safety. The final report will contain a synthesis of all the documents that were reviewed. The contractor shall also, as needed, conduct small-scale literature reviews, and/or critical reviews on special topics related to behavioral research in highway safety and prepare short reports on these reviews. A period of performance for twelve (12) months is contemplated for this procurement.
