The above announcement as appeared in the Commerce Business Daily on March 19, 1998 is amended to announce that this solicitation will not have a prescribed beginning and ending date. The schedule period will be continuous and will contain contracts with variable contract periods that commence on the date of award (DOA) and expire in five years (exclusion of any options). In addition, this solicitation will become "standing" and may be forwarded at any time, giving opportunities for new offers. Contracts will be negotiated for standard commercial supplies under the multiple award schedule (MAS) program and will be entered into with more than one firm offering similar supplies. The Government may also award contracts for identical brand names, when offers are determined to be fair and reasonable to the Government. The contracts awarded will be indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity fixed price with an economic price adjustment. Competition will be full and open and all responsible sources that submit offers will be considered. Current contractors need not respond to this announcement, or if you have responded to the previous announcement, you have been retained on the mailing list for the solicitation package, and need not respond to this announcement.
