70 -- HIGH PERFORMANCE NETWORK, HIGH CAPACITY, LARGE VOLUME NETWORK LASER PRINTERS SOL MDA905-98-Q-0079 DUE 042498 POC Ms. Sally Ward, Contract Specialist at 301-295-3067 or fax 301-295-1716 The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, the DoD Medical School and University has an urgent requirement for two (2) each high performance network, high capacity, large volume network laser printers. These printers will be connected to our VAX Novell Network LAN and produce 90% of printing volume for the university. Minimum Essential Characteristics are: (1) Duplex; (2) printing capacity of a minimum of 40 pages per minute; (3) duty cycle of up to 300,000 prints per month; (4) resolution of 600 X 600 dpi; (5) large capacity 3000 sheets input feeder; (6) large capacity 2000 sheet output stacker; (7) 128 MB Memory; (8) Ethernet Network Interface card supporting TCP/IP, IPX/SPX for Novell Netware; (9) Toner Kit and (10) Developer Kit. Printer must support Digital platform, Open VMS. To meet this requirement, the University intends to purchase or lease a DEC (Digital) Model LN 40A or Brand name or Equal product meeting these specifications. All products shown to meet the DEC specificationswill be considered. Vendors offering other than the requested DEC LN40A product must provide names of five previous customers which are using the offered printer. Price(s) must include rush shipping and installation by qualified service technician. Procurement decision will be based on best value to the government considering technical acceptability and price. Purchase and three (3) year lease price must be provided. Purchase price must include one year warranty and full maintenance coverage. Lease price should be based on 3 year period and include routine preventive and emergency maintenance.
