Infectious Diseases has a requirement for "Non-Human Primate Animal
Models for Experimental Research on Chronic Lyme Neuroborreliosis" The
major objective of this contract is to characterize the pathogenesis
associated with chronic Lyme neuroborreliosis in great detail, as well
as to develop novel and more effective therapeutic approaches for
treating this infection. The work is intended to supplement and enhance
current clinical studies and to provide new insights for the design of
future clinical studies. It is anticipated that one (1) cost
reimbursement, completion type contract will be awarded for a period of
five (5) years, beginning approximately May 1, 1999. RFP
NIH-NIAID-DMID-99-03 will be available electronically on or about April
24, 1998, and may be accessed through the World Wide Web by using the

note that the RFP for this procurement has been revised to include only
the Research and Technical Objectives, deliverable and reporting
requirements, special requirements, and mandatory qualifications, if
any, the Technical Evaluation Criteria, and the proposal preparation
instructions. All information required for the submission of an offer
will be contained in the electronic RFP package. Following proposal
submission and the initial review process, offerors comprising the
competitive range will be requested to provide additional documentation
to the Contracting Officer. Responses to this RFP will be due on July
1, 1998. Any responsible offeror may submit a proposal which will be
considered by the Government. This advertisement does not commit the
Government to award a contract. No collect calls will be accepted.
