The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) intends to award a contract for the integration and installation of equipment into its Mobile Emergency Response System (MERS) and its Mobile Air Transportable Telecommunications System (MATTS). The MERS and MATTS are located throughout the United States. The equipment that will be integrated and installed into the MERS and MATTS includes; Fiber Optic Driver and D-4 Channel Bank Multiplexers, Line-of-Sight Radios, Field Operations Shelter, Communications Van, Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Units (ROWPU's) and Water Tankers, Power Generation and Distribution Systems, and Heating-Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Systems. FEMA intends to procure the equipment and provide it to the selected firm as Government Furnished Equipment (GFE). The selected firm will integrate, install and test the equipment. Solicitation # EMW-1998-RP-0021 will be issued on or about April 29, 1998, and proposals will be due on or about June 4, 1998. The contract is anticipated to be a requirements type contract with fixed prices and fixed rates and a term not to exceed three years. This is a 100% small business set-aside under SIC Code 4812.
