The Social Security Administration (SSA) plans to issue a full and open competition solicitation for the acquisition for the services of a contractor to monitor and evaluate demonstration projects, issued as SSA cooperative agreements, to test State-based approaches to increasing employment of individuals with disabilities who are recipients of Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI). In addition to monitoring the State demonstration projects, the contractor shall provide technical assistance, conduct an evaluation and disseminate the findings. The purpose of the demonstration projects is to assist States in developing integrated service delivery systems which increase employment of people with disabilities who receive SSDI and/or SSI. It is anticipated that a minimum of five and a maximum of ten cooperative agreements will be issued by SSA to conduct demonstration projects. The base period of performance shall be one year from date of award with the inclusionof provisions for an additional four one-year option periods. It is anticipated that Request for Proposal, SSA-RFP-98-3520 will be issued on or about May 25, 1998, with proposals due 30 days later. Only written requests for the solicitation when it is released will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis for up to 20 days after the date of this publication. No telephone requests will be honored.
