Specialist, 410-962-3204 This project will be request for proposals and
could be multiple selection. Construction contractors will be selected
to participate in teaming activities with the A-E including, but not
limited to, constructability reviews of the design as the design
progresses. Firms participating in the teaming process will not be
compensated for their participation. Those firms that are selected and
successfully complete the teaming process will be the only firms from
which construction proposals will be solicited. Pre-construction may
be included in the construction execution activity. Pre-construction
inlcudes construction access and staging areas, temporary mechanical,
electrical, plumbing and telecommunication (TEMP-MEP), general
demolition of existing space and environmental remediation. Asbestos
abatement work will be required. Core & Shell work includes structural
demolition, demolition of MEP remaining systems concealed prior to
Pre-Construction work, excavation, foundations and concrete,
architectural,structural and MEP/telecommunications infrastructure
portions of the Core & Shell construction ready for tenant
construction. Segment III includes phased Mall Terrace renovation work
as each increment below is renovated. Tenant work may be constructed
in several phases within one segment depending on program priorities.
Build-out of approx. 333,000 SF of space for segment II and 345,000 SF
for segment III consisting of general office space, computer space and
special space. Security clearance may be required for the construction
of High-altitude ElectroMagnetic Pulse (HEMP) Shield Enclosure (HSE)
which is to be located in Segment II. Construction experience building
government HSE and Command Centers within the last 10 years is
essential. The teaming activities are expected to begin in July 1998.
Construction contract award is not anticipated until approximately
March 1999. Est. cost of construction is over $100,000,000.00 for
Pre-Construction, Core and Shell and Tenant Fit Out. The construction
schedulecurrently contemplates 48 months for construction completion,
starting at construction execution. Firms desiring to participate in
