NASA/Goddard intends to award multiple Fixed-Price/Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contracts for excess payload capacity available on commercial space missions to carry earth science, space science and technology instrumentation. The provisions and clauses in the RFO are those in effect through FAC 97-04. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR PART 12. The SIC Code and Size Standard are 3761 and 1,000 employees, respectively. The DPAS rating for this procurement is DO-A2. We anticipate release of the DRFP on or about April 15, 1998, with an anticipated due date for industry comments on or about April 27, 1998. The anticipated release date of the final RFO is on or about May 6, 1998 with an anticipated proposal due date of on or about June 3, 1998. All qualified responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed. See Internet Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office Suite (Word 6.0, Excel 5.0, or PowerPoint 4.0) format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
