D -- INFORMATION ON SPEECH TECHNOLOGY WHICH CAN BE USED TO IMPROVE COMMAND AND CONTROL (C2) OPERATIONS SOL ss/c2b/st/beasleyt DUE 051998 POC Major Eben Hughes, Project Manager, (850) 882-0492 The purpose of this modification is to replace the description published on 041398 with the following information: This is a Request for Information (RFI). The Command and Control Battlelab (C2B) is requesting information on speech technology software for Solaris 2.5, and 2.51, Hewlett Packard Unix compliant UX-10, and NT Workstations 4.0, which can be used to improve Command and Control (C2) operations processes. We are investigating speech technologies to decrease workload and enhance security of C2 activities. These functions may include command and controls to manage applications, dictation, and voice recognition for security. Information is requested on any products that enable users to apply any of these features. Respondents to this RFI/market survey are requested to provide technical data to include a discussion of the value their product would add to the command and control process. All corporate and proprietary information should be so marked and will be fully protected to the extent allowed.This RFI is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any follow-on acquisitions. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise pay for the information solicited. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of submission of responses to this RFI and Government use of such information. This RFI does not constitute the solicitation of proposals. Responders to this RFI may be requested to provide additional details/information based on their initial submittals.
