Barnes, Contract Specialist, (202) 426-0131 The Department of Energy intends to negotiate a firm-fixed-price contract with only one source, ABB Combustion Engineering, Inc. (CE), under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) only one responsible source. CE will supply the service of knowledgeable staff familiar with the coal gasification process pilot plant and chemicals involved in its operation, which are related to the contamination of the groundwater formerly being pumped and currently being monitored to oversee the successful remediation of this chemical spill. These services include monitoring of all sample wells of the interceptor well pump, and the evaluation and reporting of all the results on a quarterly basis. The Period of Performance will be from May 15, 1998 through December 31, 1998. There is no solicitation available. Firms must submit their interest in writing to: R.
