Solicitation packages will be available on or about 4/30/98. Contractor will be required to provide services to transcribe approximately 1.2 million lines of dictation annually into the proper format and transmit to the VA VISTA (Veteran's Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture) computer system within 24 hours of the dictation for all but STAT dictations which shall require a one hour turn-around time. Dictated reports must be available for viewing in the VISTA system during the turn-around period. The successful offeror must have equipment that is compatible with our medical center system (i.e., a personal computer with MS Word or Word Perfect and be able to format the reports in an ASCII format to allow the reports to transmit correctly) and must be able to transmit into this Medical Center's computer system via telephone lines. Associated costs for compatible equipment described and all telephone line charges are to be borne by the Contractor. Material transcribed will include a high incidence of technical terminology and requires knowledge of a specialized vocabulary of a wide variety of subjects in the field of medicine. The anticipated contract shall be for a base year with four one-year options to extend. This solicitation is a total 100% small business set-aside.
