purpose of this announcement is to amend the synopsis/solicitation
N00600-98-R-1669, which was submitted to the Commerce Business Daily on
March 6, 1998. (i) The closing date of the solicitation is hereby
changed from 17 April, 1998 to 22 April, 1998 at 2:00 PM local time.
(ii) The requirement for the 180 day, next day response site warranty
for FISC Detachment Sasebo Japan is hereby changed to a 180 day, two
day response site warranty for FISC Detachment Sasebo Japan. (iii) The
answer to Question 10, on Amendment 3 of the subject solicitation
shall read, "10. Question. The machine specification requires one AGP
slot on the motherboard. Is the use of an AGP video card required, or
is the desired item for future expansion? Answer. An AGP slot is
required, not a video AGP card." (iv) The following are responses to
technical questions submitted by fax that were received after the
posting of Amendment 3 of the subject solicitation. 33. Question (Q).
Can you define and clarify what you expect of the vendor in terms of
setup and installation ? Answer (A). The vendor is responsible to
insure that the systems will operate with the current operating system,
i. e., APADE/SPS. The specification provided will insure the PCs are
capable of performing in the APADE/SPS environment. The vendor is not
responsible for the installation of any Government hardware or
software. 34. Q. Is another type of warranty acceptable? A. No, the
government requirements on the warranty have been stated in the
synopsis/solicitation. 35. Q. In the area of support I have found it
more cost effective to quote a year next day on site service. Would
adding that in the quote disqualify me? A. There is no requirement to
quote support outside of the warranty period. 36. Q. Shipping is
identified as FOB. Is the contractor or the government responsible for
shipping? A. The contractor is responsible. 37. Q. Will there be a MIS
representative on site and available during the system delivery and
installation? A. Yes 38. Q. Is there a POC at each site for shipping
purposes? A. Yes, there is a POC at each site for shipping purposes and
this POC will be provided after award. 39. Q. Will the network
configuration details of each site be available prior to the delivery
to the sites? A. Yes, if needed. The site POC will provide this
information. 40. Q. Do you require a 64 bit or a 32 bit sound card?
Would a 16 bit card be acceptable? A. A 32 bit or voice is required.
(v) This is the fourth of four amendments to synopsis/solicitation
N00600-98-R-1669. The preceding amendments issued 17 March, 1998, 02
April, 1998, and 08 April, 1998, respectively, and the original
synopsis/solicitation can be found on the CBD net at
cbdnet.access.gpo.gov. When using the CBD net these documents can be
accessed by choosing the "simple search" option. After choosing this
option, both the active and archive fields should be activated (a check
within the field indicates activation). The submission number (SN) for
each respective document should then be used to call up the
necessarydocument. In the next field, the user must type "SN" and then
the respective number (DO NOT put a space between the letters SN and
