Sources sought are small businesses (under 500 employees) that are also manufacturers of processed fruit and vegetable products. Small manufacturers are sought to produce canned and dried fruits and vegetables for use in the National School Lunch Program and other Federal feeding programs. Sources are sought for the following canned fruit products: canned fruit cocktail, canned mixed fruit, canned sliced cling peaches, canned diced cling peaches, canned chunk pineapple, and canned crushed pineapple. These products will be purchased in #300, #303, and #10 cans. Sources are sought for the following canned vegetable products: canned black turtle beans, canned garbanzo beans, canned dry pinto beans-brine, canned dry pink beans-brine, canned dry red kidney beans-brine, and canned dry baby lima beans-brine. These products will be purchased in #10 cans. Sources are sought for the following dry bean products: dry pea beans, dry red kidney beans, dry split green peas, and dry lentils. These products will be purchased in 25 LB bags and 2 LB packages. Sources are sought for the following dried fruit products: dried fig nuggets, dried prunes, and dried currents. These products will be purchased in 2 LB and 1 LB cartons. This request is for information only; proposals are not being requested nor will they be accepted in response to this synopsis. No contracts will be awarded solely on the basis of the responses to this synopsis. All processed fruit and vegetable products purchased by USDA must be of 100% domestic origin.
