Employment and Training Administration (DOL/ETA) is soliciting
proposals to implement JOB CORPS COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS. This is a
national initiative to strengthen, coordinate and facilitate the
understanding, implementation, and integration of Job Corps public
policy issues, including new legislation, and national priorities
throughout the internal Job Corps system, with particular focus on
enhancing community connections which benefit Job Corps students, the
community and employers. The objectives of the project are (1) Develop
targeted technical assistance through liaison-building and
disseminating information to the internal Job Corps network (2) Obtain
and analyze feedback, facilitating training and conferences to support
national priorities, producing policy analyses, expanding and
streamlining communications avenues and designing staff development
programs that focus on "best practices" related to community
connections and initiatives supporting national priorities. The period
of performance for the perspective award will be 12 months from the
date of execution of the contract by the Government plus four (4)
1-year options, at the discretion of the Government. The requirement is
let under 100% Small Business Set-Aside. The SIC Code is 8732 and the
Size Standard is $5 million. Request for proposals will be available on
our Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration's
Internet Home Page at HTTP://WWW.DOLETA.GOV, approximately 15 days from
the date of publication. Requests for proposals in hard copy form will
also be available upon written request only, on a first come, first
served basis, until the supply is exhausted. Telephone requests will
not be honored. For requests made after the supply is exhausted, the
Contracting Officer may determine whether payment of a fee is
warranted. The fee will not exceed the actual cost of duplication of
the solicitation documents. Closing date for receipt of proposals will
be June 15, 1998 2:00 P.M. Local Time. Request for proposals must cite
RFP-DAA-98-29 and MUST include two self addressed labels. Failure to
