R -- OPERATIONAL SUPPORT FOR CTBT AIR MONITORING STATION POC Jolene Hale (407) 494-4556 or John Moore, Contracting Officer (407) 494-0530 The 45th Contracting Squadron intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with the Midway Phoenix Corporation, Midway Island Station #40, Lihue, HI 96766-0099. The purpose of this contract is to obtain operational support for the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty Radionuclide Monitoring Station on Midway Atoll for the Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC). The radionuclide station measures radionuclides in the atmosphere for relevant materials. This sole source acquisition is justified under 10 USC 2304(c)(1), which is cited in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This acquisition will be for a basic period of one year plus four option years. No solicitation document exists. The 45th Contracting Squadron has determined that the Midway Phoenix Corporation is the only source capable of providing the necessary support services. (0106)
