It is the declared and acknowledged intention and meaning of this solicitation to supply and install a new cast iron sectional steam boiler, 1500 gallon above ground fuel tank and all wiring, pumps, safety controls, insulation, breeching and mechanical equipment required for a complete and useable heating system in existing mechanical room at DFSP, Searsport, Maine. The approximate size of steam boiler is 875 Mbtu net, which will be connected to exisitng steam supply and return lines. The work will be performed by means of a firm fixed price contract. The government will award a contract to the responsible quoter whose proposal is the most advantageous to the government, price and other factors considered. Factors other than price include: QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: State of Maine Licensed Heating Technician with proven experience in the installation of at least three boilers of similar size. CAPACITY: Ability to respond to warranty service calls within three hours. Possesses adequate manpower and resources to perform all work as required by the specification within a 90 day performance period. PAST PERFORMANCE: Ability to demonstrate satisfactory past performance. Provide at least four evaluations of work performed within the last three years, as prepared by previous customers. Contractor will be required to submit a narrative, including all necessary documentation, of how their price and the consideration of all other factors shall benefit the government. A meeting to discuss the terms of this soliciation and a walk through will be held on 27 MAR 98 at 10:00 a.m. in the fuel lab building at DFSP Searsport.
