Pohl, Purchasing Agent (517) 483-5708 (Site Code W56LS9) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This Solicitation number is DAHA20-98-T-0012, and is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The RFQ incorporates provisions and clauses as those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular Number 97-03 and Defense Acquisition Circular 91-12. This solicitation is 100% set-aside for small business. The standard industrial classification code is 5142 with small business size standard of 500 employees or less. Description of requirement: CLIN 0001, Bacon, sliced, smoked 18-23 slices per pound, layout separated by paper, min 6,000 max 8,000 lbs. CLIN 0002, Ground beef patties, 1/4 lb, 80/20 shall be mechanically formed into patties of the size indicated. They shall be arranged in stacks separated from adjacent patties by two sheets of patty paper, min 4,500 max 6,000 lbs. CLIN 0003, Beef, corned, pre-cooked, boneless, raw, deckles off, knuckle peeled, top (inside round), bottom (gooseneck) round, and or rump butt. Not more than 10% added water in curing. 10-12 lb average, min 3,000 max 4,000 lbs. CLIN 0004, Beef, diced (stewing), USDA select grade machine cut acceptable. At least 85% by weight, of the resulting dices shall be a size equivalent to not less than a 1" cube or more than a 1" cube, min 4,500 max 6,000 lbs. CLIN 0005, Beef, ground, bulk, 80/20 shall be prepared from any portion of the carcass, shall be free from any bones, cartilages, preemoral, popliteal and prescapular and other lymph glands. CLIN 0006, Beef, shoulder roast, pre-cooked boneless clod, min 7,500 max 10,000 lbs. CLIN 0007, Beef, swissing, 6 oz pre-sliced, surface and seam fat shall not exceed 1/4" in thickness at any point and shall not exceed 50% of the circumference of the steak. USDA choice or higher, inside round eye of round or outside round, min 2,250 max 3,000 lbs. CLIN 0008, Bratwurst, pre-cooked, skinless 4 to 1 pound, all pork, min 2,250 max 3,000 lbs. CLIN 0009, Chicken drummies- fully cooked, min 4,500 max 6,000. CLIN 0010, Ham, smoked, boneless, fully cooked USDA schedule for smoked, fully cooked, shankless ham, sectioned and formed, min 5,250 max 7,000 lbs. CLIN 0011, Polish Sausage, all meat, pork/beef, 4 per pound, natural casing, min 2,250 max 3,000 lbs . CLIN 0012, Pork loin chops, boneless, center cut, 5 oz, min 2,250 max 3,000 lbs. CLIN 0013, Pork loin, boneless roast, pre-cooked 8-10 lb average, min 3,750 max 5,000. CLIN 0014, Pork sausage, bulk, lean, 70/30, min 7,500 max 10,000 lbs. CLIN 0015, Pork sausage, patties, 70/30, 1 oz, pre-cooked, min 1,500 max 2,000 lbs. CLIN 0016, Turkey roast, white and dark meat, pre- cooked, 7-10 lb average, min 4,500 max 6,000 lbs. Qualifying offers will meet the stated specifications and be accompanied by completed provisions at 52.212-3 and 252.225-7000. The following must also be included: 1) Product specifications for the commodity being offered including fat content, 2) Unit pricing, 3) List of the last 3 contracts received and delivered during March/April, 1998 with the Company name, point of contact and telephone number, 4) Name and address of the manufacturer/processor of requested meat products. Failure to provide this information can render your quote non-responsive and therefore not considered for award. Completed provisions, required information and any descriptive literature my be faxed to 517-483-5900. The Government will award a contract(s) resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offerer(s) whose offer conforms to the solicitation and will be most advantageous to the Government. Award evaluation factors are: price, delivery, prior performance, manufacturer/processor of meat products must be approved by and listed in the U.S. Dept of Agriculture (USDA) "Meat & Poultry Inspection Directory" and ability to meet government requirements. Multiple awards may result from this solicitation. FOB Destination pricing is required. Multiple deliveries will be required-currently anticipated to be one per month for months of June, July, and August with first delivery 6-1-98. Successful offeror must: 1) be able to respond with deliveries to orders with a 24 hour lead time, 2) make deliveries around 7:00 A.M., 3) provide own off-loading equipment, 4) provide immediate notification of non-stock items (not wait until time of physical delivery, 5) Must be capable of receiving payments via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). All delivery requirements are subject to change. The Government reserves the right to reject any delivery that does not meet specifications and is not of usable quality. Quantities/size of orders will vary. Minimum orders will generally be 500 lbs of meats but could be as low as 200 lbs. These weight estimates are for total order, not for each individual item requested.
