The State of Illinois, Illinois Department of Public Aid (IDPA) is seeking to procure hardware, software and system integrator services. The Department requires the integrator services to implement a Scanner/Imaging System (SIS) to provide the basis for the data processing of medical claims within the Bureau of Information Systems (BIS) Data Preparation Unit (DPU). The successful system must be able to: process all documents received and eliminate the need to file original documents in a file room; create an unchanged replication of the original document; provide a method to notify appropriate staff that a document, in image form, is available for their review; eliminate the need for manual data entry; create a paperless environment by electronically moving the data and image; provide a method to automatically send data directly to the host from the scanners; provide a method to incorporate host data base editing while processing the data; and provide the ability to capture the data from the scanned/imaged document and be able to export and manipulate the data in other applications such as Key Entry III (KEIII).
