J -- REPAIR OF LAPTOPS SOL 51-8-137 POC Linda Catterton, 301-457-1840 The Bureau of the Census intends to negotiate on a noncompetitive basis with Comark Federal Systems, 4433 Brookfield Corporate Drive, Chantilly, VA 20151 for repairs (not covered under the manufacturers warranty) on the following laptops: Toshiba Portege 620CT and IBM ThinkPad 560, Models 10U, 20U and 30U. The period of performance will be from May 1, 1998 through September 30, 1998. The Census Bureau currently has a contract in place with Comark for the purchase and lease of these laptops. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this requirement no later than 15 days from the published date of this announcement. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determing whether to conduct future competive procurements. (0107)
