Herchak, Contract Officer The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS) intends to negotiate solely with Environmental Growth Chambers, Chagrin Falls, Ohio, to upgrade controllers for eight (8) EGC-M96, Environmental Growth Chambers and upgrade lighting on two (2) EGC M-96 chambers (water module installed) to an EGC Air-Cooled Sunbrella High Intensity Discharge (H.I.D.) System at its location in Beaver, West Virginia. There are currently eight (8) EGC MP-1 controllers to be upgraded with EGC TC-2 controllers, temperature sensors and humidity sensors. The controllers will operate using EGC Host or ControlNet Software. The contractor shall connect a Government-furnished computer to the eight (8) controllers that they will equip with the TC-2 controllers to form a data logging network. The contractor is required to install and test the upgraded equipment. The contractor shall also provide demonstration and instruction on the use and maintenance of the TC-2 controllers and software system. The contractor shall also be required to convert two (2) M-96 incandescent/fluorescent, water cooled LCM light system to the HID, water-cooled light cooling module system. Companies with the demonstrated capability of providing these upgrades and maintenance on them must submit a descriptive statement, including descriptive literature, specifically addressing the equipment's components and availability, and the company's capability to maintain/support it. The statement and literature must be submitted to the CO within 15 days of publication of this notice. This is not a request for proposal. No solicitation is available. (0107)
