material, equipment, transportation, mobilization, and demobilization
for the construction of a pre-engineered metal building for Sand and
Urea Storage. The clear span building is approx. 52' x 78' (4,000 GSF),
with an eave height of 23' that will ensure a minimum 28' clear
interior working height. It shall be erected with a 8' thick reinforced
concrete perimeter wall and two interior reinforced concrete partitions
6' high. The building has three 16' x 16' industrial overhead roll-up
doors, galvanized metal louvers, translucent wall panels, ventilation
fans and interior lighting. All structural steel, i.e., rigid frame,
girts, purlins, columns, cross bracing, shall be factory painted epoxy.
Steel roofing and wall panels shall have a special factory applied
coating. All fasteners shall be stainless steel. Site development
includes site clearing, a concrete slab, catch basins and gravel fill.
The contract duration is 150 days from Bid Award including all
submittalsthrough construction completion. Work shall be performed at
the U.S. Coast Guard Integrated Support Command (ISC) in Kodiak,
Alaska. The estimated price range is approximately $250,000 to
$600,000. Duration of the project is approximately 5 months. Plans and
specifications will be available on or about 01 May 1998. SIC CODE:

Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business
Utilization (OSBDU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and
disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working
capital and bonding assistance for transportation related contracts.
This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier.
The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid,
payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT
provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against
losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending
Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable
financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000. For further
