Fish and Wildlife Service invites bids for construction of the Atlantic
Salmon Restoration Facility in East Orland, Hancock County, Maine which
includes new building construction and modifications to the existing
hatchery building. The new facility is approximately 36,000 square feet
in area which is dedicated to fish rearing and production. The upper
floor level will provide an additional 13,000 square feet of space to
meet staff, operational and maintenance, and visitor outreach
requirements. The project includes the construction of river specific,
segregated, incubation, fry rearing and broodstock holding areas,
general staff/facility support areas and a visitors outreach area, all
sitework including earthwork, site grading, surface restoration,
paving and landscaping, site electrical and lighting, process and
drainage piping, and sanitary wastewater disposal system. The project
includes an 1,800 sq.ft. building addition and modifications to the
existing water treatment facility including piping modifications and
instrumentation improvements. Also included in the project is
construction of the Craig Pond pipeline, approximately 3,300 linear
feet of 18-inch diameter polyethylene transmission pipe and shallow
(800 linear ft.) and deep (1,800 linear ft.) water intakes from the
pond to the existing water treatment facility; improvements to the
existing domestic water system; demolition of the existing Visitors
Center; construction of a new forcemain (1,000 linear ft.) from the
existing pumpstation to the water treatment facility; and demolition of
the existing raceways. Requests for bid package must be submitted in
writing to the address above to the attention of Ann Marie Beauregard,
Contracting Officer. Requests must be accompanied by a check/money
order made out to "U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service" in the amount of
$125 which is non-refundable. Requests for the bid package must include
the name of company, address, telephone and FAX numbers, and a point of
contact, and should reference the solicitation number listed above.
This is an unrestricted procurement and shall be open to any
responsible and responsive bidder. For certification purposes, SIC code
is 1542; business size is $17.0 million. Construction estimate is $5-10
