Corporation (JE) is a prime contractor (NAS9-18800) to the National
Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) at Johnson Space Center
(JSC), Houston, TX. JE is seeking qualified companies to provide
aerospace quality fabrication support for Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory
(NBL) Space Station Remote Manipulator System (SSRMS) structural
components. Fabricators must have established capabilities in
machining, welding, and precision sheet metal forming of titanium and
stainless aerospace components. The components to be fabricated require
precision fixturing and extensive pre and post machining to tight
tolerances. The work must be assigned to a manufacturing engineer to
supervise the work to be performed. Other preferred capabilities
include an automated welding (seamer) and CAD/CAM system capable of
importing PRO/E generated IGES files. Weldments must meet NASA
procedure, certification and inspection requirements. Interested
sources are requested to submit a detailed Statement of Capabilities
which specifically describes how your company is qualified to perform
all aspects of the work to be performed described above within 10
calendar days of the publication date of this notice. JE intends to
prequalify prospective bidders prior to the issuance of a solicitation.
All firms submitting a capability statement will be considered and any
subsequent solicitation will be issued to the sources that JE has
determined to be qualified. JE does not intend to pay for information
