to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for 14 X 22 Tunnel Minicart. The
scope of work for this procurement consists of designing, fabricating,
assembling, testing and delivering a self-propelled cart which shall
be used to transport wind tunnel stings, models and associated hardware
from the model preparation area to the tunnel test section of the 14 X
22 Tunnel. The contractor shall be responsible for providing all
tools, materials, and labor, to provide a complete and finished
product. The Contractor shall deliver the cart to the 14 X 22 Tunnel,
complete site test, and train facility personnel in the cart s
operation. The Contractor shall also provide a lifting rig, capable of
lifting the cart, sting, model and associated hardware into the second
floor test area of the tunnel from the ground floor model
storage/preparation area. This procurement is being conducted under the
Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government intends to
acquire a commercial item using FAR PART 12. The SIC Code and Size
Standard are 3443 and 500 employees respectively, The DPAS Rating for
this procurement is DO-C9. The anticipated release date of RFQ
1-141-GGI.2094 is on or about April 28, 1998, with an anticipated quote
due date of on or about June 12, 1998. All qualified responsible
sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the Agency. An
ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B". The
solicitation related to this procurement will be available over the
Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office Suite (Word 6.0,
Excel 5.0, or PowerPoint 4.0) format and will reside on a World Wide
Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser
