Corporation (JE) is a prime contractor (NAS9-18800) to the National
Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) at Johnson Space Center
(JSC), Houston, TX. JE is seeking qualified companies to provide
aerospace quality fabrication support for Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory
(NBL) Space Station Mobile Servicing Center Mobile Base and Mobile
Transporter Tower assemblies. Fabricators must be ASME certified and
have established capabilities welding and manipulating large,
cumbersome, 4-10 kip (est.), 304L stainless tubular and open section
structures while holding tight tolerances at critical target points.
The assemblies will require precision fixturing and post machining of
critical interfaces (application of a large horizontal mill and/or
portable in-place machining equipment is preferred). The fabricator
must have the capability of producing fabrication drawings from
weldment assembly drawings. All weldments must meet NASA procedures,
certification and inspection requirements. Interested sources are
requested to submit a detailed Statement of Capabilities which
specifically describes how your company is qualified to perform all
aspects of the work to be performed described above within 10 calendar
days of the publication date of this notice. JE intends to prequalify
prospective bidders prior to the issuance of a solicitation. All firms
submitting a capability statement will be considered and any subsequent
solicitation will be issued to the sources that JE has determined to be
qualified. JE does not intend to pay for information received as a
