The Aberdeen Area Indian Health Service (AAIHS) is planning to enter into a contract with one or more vendors to assist with the efforts to prepare for a multi-institutional JCAHO survey. The survey is scheduled to occur in August/September 1998. The preparatory work provided by the Contractor willl take place at Indian Health hospitals (some with hospital sponsored ambulatory facilities) and ambulatory clinics in North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska. The vendor will address facility-specific needs that have already been identified. The level and amount of assistance required will vary from site to site. Assistance may include, but not be limited to, one or more of the following areas: Safety/Environment of care; Risk Management; Measurement & Data Analysis; Bylaws & Plans; Leadership Preparation; Performance Improvement; Team Assignments; Policies and Procedures; IOP Presentations; and Medical Staff Functions. Performance is to take place on or before July 30, 1998 on site at AAIHS hospitals and clinics. NOTE: This announcement is not seeking vendors to perform an assessment of needs. Rather, we are seeking contractor(s) that will use practical expertise to organize survey preparatory efforts and wil help do the work needed to address deficiencies.
