This VA Medical Center intends to enter into a long term lease contract for one (1) truck capable of safely transporting 17,000-20,999 gross vehicle weight. The truck must meet the following minimum specifications: gasoline motor with block heater; minimum 210 horsepower motor; van with cab; 16 ft. box with overhead rear door (78 x 94 inch); tuck under lift gate with 2,000 lb. lifting capacity; e-tracks on inside of van body installed 36 inches above floor with locking bar; power steering; air conditioning; automatic transmission; AM/FM radio; back up alarm; shall not be older than 1996 model year. All taxes, tag fees, mileage charges, maintenance (including oil changes and lubricants, tires and tubes, cold weather protection, exterior washings, roadside repair, and repair parts, etc.) are to be the responsibility of the contractor. Provide a maximum of two-hour response time for road maintenance with back-up truck provided. Maintenance service facility must be within a 50 mile radius of Knoxville, Iowa. Contractor must provide all appropriate DOT permits and affix DOT permit numbers to truck. Contract period to be one year with the option to extend the term for an additional four one-year periods.
