The child care center will be located near the intersection of Lakeside Ave. and East Sixth Street on the Federal Plaza of the AJ Celebrezze FB. The work includes but is not limited to providing all labor, materials, and supervision for the following: general construction, reworking existing plaza -- paved and landscaped areas, concrete, fencing, landscaping, playground alteration, site drainage, irrigation, metal roofing, insulation, glass and glazing, plumbing, heating and cooling, lighting, power, security and fire protection, and interior partitions. Interior finishes include but not limited to: new ceilings, vinyl coverings, painting, ceramic tile, carpeting, millwork, and cabinetry. A security wall, plaza improvements, and masonry -- lightweight structural steel framing are also part of the scope, but maybe included as options. Time for completion is estimated at 300 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Due to funding constraints, the base contract award shall not exceed $1,500,000. Funds are not currently available. This project is being procured under the Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program established by Title VII of the "Business Opportunity Development Reform Act of 1988." This procurement is set aside for small business concerns. The SIC code is 1542, and the small business size standard is $17,000,000 (annual average gross revenue for the last 3 fiscal years). Only proposals from small business concerns will be considered for award. RFPs will be available o/a June 11, 1998. Proposals will be opened privately on July 14, 1998. No information regarding the proposals, including the number of offerors or prices, will be released until after award.
