The Naval Air Systems Command plans to procure twenty-five (25) UH-1N AN/AAQ-22A Navigation Thermal Imaging System (NTIS) upgrades from FLIR Systems, Inc., 160505 SW 72nd Portland, OR 97224. The NTIS is a D/NIGHT vision sight system that detects radiant energy in the form of heat and displays the image via an aircraft cockpit video display unit. The system inhances the UH-1N Pilots' ability as an aid to night navigation and detect, recognize, and identify enemy threats on the modern battlefield.
