NASA/SSC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Carl Zeiss, Inc., for the procurement of a Gyro-stablized Mount and one Camera Tilting device. The camera mounting system will be used to mount the aerial mapping camera installed in the NASA SSC Learjet 23. The system consists of one each, T-AS Gyro stablized Mount for RMK TOP or RMK A camera (including cable and case), Drift control based on navigation instrument; one each, T-AS installation and training within the continental USA and Canada; one each, T-AS Stand Alone Kit. The new mount is an upgrade of the existing mount. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Authority: 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirement. Interested firms have 15 days from the publication of this synopsis to submit a proposal in writing consisting of descriptive litature, prices, availability, warranty, invoice terms and business size. The proposal will beused for determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 15 days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
