The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, MD, intends to solicit a sole source contract to The Boeing Company to acquire technical support for the analysis, modeling, simulation, design, testing, and evaluation of integrated crew stations and aircrew subsystems in support of the Advanced Technology Crew Station Program. This action is taken pursuant to the authority of 10 USC 2304 (c) (1) as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation, 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other goods or services will meet the agency's requirements (See Note 22). A Research and Development IDIQ contract with delivery orders is anticipated and will have a one-year base period and four one-year option periods. Each delivery order will identify the effort to be performed which include, but are not limited to, the following areas of investigation: General ATCS Requirements; Aircrew Station Geometry; Seating and Escape; Controls/Displays; Man/Machine Functional Requirements and Interface; Life Support Systems; Acceleration Tolerance and Protection; CBR Protection; Laser Eye Protection Technology; Computer/Software; Sensors; Structures and Materials; Aerodynamics; Signature Reduction and/or Control; Mission Requirements and Analysis; Physiological Aspects of Operational Environments. This is a follow-on contract to N62269-89-C-0230 (McDonnell Douglas) and N62269-89-C-0276 (Boeing). An award date of December 1998 is anticipated. (0110)
