The VA North Texas Health Care System (NTHCS) is currently seeking to identify sources located in Dallas, Texas to furnish Colorflex Label Printer/Software with the following specifications. 1) Must have the capability to interface into any 100% compatible IBM, client owned, computer and with the following minimum standards: a) 486DX 33 PC or better (Windows 95 or NT) (Windows for Workgroups 3.11); b) 8 megabytes of RAM; c) 3.5" high density disk drive; d) local hard disk w/at least 10MB of free space; e) one parallel port; f) VGA monitor and card; g) 2400 Baud Hayes compatible modem; h) printer speed (one label 7.5 seconds, approximately 480 per hour); I) color simulations with the capability to match clients present label color patterns; j) must utilize dry solid wax print process. No messy inks, must be white glove operation k) must print labels on label material with permanent adhesive; l) must also have capability to print 8 " x 11" sheets (plain paper) for all types of color printing including overhead transparencies, etc.; m) vendor must assume, in advance, there is compatibility to download between the VA NTHCS mainframe database and colorflex software; n) vendor must assist with printer hookup to client PC computer and provide follow-up telephone support; o) vendor must provide 90 day warranty on colorflex printer and label software; p) vendor must verify in advance that colorflex bar code is compatible with client existing bar code readers; q) colorflex must provide client the option to revise or redesign label format as needed.
