Contracting Officer, 202 927-0072 The U.S. Customs Service intends to
acquire counseling, assessment, referral, and follow-up services to
support its Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for employees with
emotional or behavioral problems. Under certain circumstances, limited
services may be offered to spouses and children of Customs employees.
The contract will also require the development and presentation of
training seminars to Customs employees. Some training will be geared
exclusively toward supervisors and managers. The topics covered in
training seminars may include, but are not limited to, substance abuse,
the Federal Drug Free Workplace Program, the Customs Alcohol Testing
Program, coping with stress, managing conflict, financial
responsibility, preventing workplace violence, and preventing domestic
violence. EAP services will be made available to approximately 21,000
employees dispersed across the United States, Virgin Islands, Puerto
Rico and Canada. The base office will be located in the Washington
Metropolitan Area. The performance period will be one year with four
one year options. Options will be evaluated at the time of award.
Solicitation No. CS-98-034 will be available on or about May 22, 1998;
proposals will be due 30 days after release of the RFP. All
responsible sources are invited to submit a request for RFP. Telephone
