Johnson, 202/326-4160 ext. 6859 The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) seeks to increase the maximum hours and staff under an existing contract for the operation and management of the Office of General Counsel's (OGC) Communications Center. The additional hours are required to reorganize more than 700 existing hard copy files and to transfer the related electronic entries in OGC's computerized legal case management system. The current contract includes, but is not limited to file organization, maintenance, mailroom and docketing services. This contract was awarded competitively based, on among other criteria, the firm's prior experience in a law office or corporate legal environment. In view of the contractor's knowledge and understanding of the scope of work, the organization of the Communications Center and operation of the computerized legal case management and information system, it is in the best interest of the PBGC for the current provider to complete this work by increasing the labor hours under the existing contract.. This will ensure continuity in the work, completion by September 30, 1998, and accuracy in execution. This is not a request for proposal. See Note 22. (0111)
