V -- LODGING AND TRANSPORTATION SERVICES SOL 52WCNW806037JAS POC Jackie Shewmaker (816) 426-7129 ext. 221 The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, National Weather Service (NWS), plans to issue Solicitation Number 52WCNW806037JAS for lodging and transportation for NWS students attending classes at the NWS Training Center located at 7220 NW 101st Terrace, Kansas City, Missouri 64153. The Government plans to award a requirements type contract for a base period of nine (9) months from January 1, 1999 through September 30, 1999, and two option periods of twelve months each. The Contractor will have in-house capability to accommodate an estimated number of 135 students at one time. The rooms will have a minimum of 180 square feet, excluding the bathroom. The Contractor's facility will be no more than 15-20 minutes drive (one way) or 10 road miles (one way) from the NWS Training Center (NWSTC). Transportation includes one round trip per day per student from the Contractor's facility to the NWSTC, except Saturday, Sunday, and Federal Holidays. The contractor will furnish scheduled shuttle service to/from a nearby mall or other large shopping/restaurant that provides food/retail/entertainment services.
