This is a small business set-aside under SIC code 1799; the size standard applicable to this procurement is $7 million (average annual receipts for preceding three fiscal years). The magnitude of construction is between $25,000 and $100,000. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for a Contractor to furnish and install 79 linear feet of Monumental Iron Works "Bristol" style screen fence with two 4' walk-in gates and one 16' wide swing gate around the generator at Building 227 of the NIST campus in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The fence shall be 10' 6 7/8" high including the decorative rings. The posts shall be 6" square 7 gauge steel 13' long set 36" in concrete. The diameter of the footings shall be 18". Fence boards shall be 25 gauge steel minimum, conforming to the requirements of ASTM A-446, Grade B, and shall have a hot-dipped galvanized coating of ASTM A525, coating designation G-90. Rings shall be made from cast aluminum with a 20,000 PSI minimum. Assembly shall be accomplished using 1/4" industrial drive rivets. All metal shall be given a polyester resin based powder coating (color: tan) to produce a durable, weather-resistant finish. The Contractor shall provide the labor, material, equipment, and supervision necessary for the performance of all operations incidental to the furnishing and installation of said fence. The period of performance shall be from issuance of Notice to Proceed through 60 days thereafter.
