solicitation, other than through the internet, WILL NOT BE
ACKNOWLEDGED. NSWC IHD shall not receive or accept any form of
electronic or faxed proposals as a result of this synopsis and internet
solicitation. All proposals must be received in hard copy and are
subject to the FAR Clause 52.215-1 Instructions to Offerors Competitive
Acquisition (Oct 1997). The Indian Head Division, Naval Surface Warfare
Center has a requirement for MK 22 Head Caps and Nozzles. The base
requirement is for a quantity of 4118 machined MK 22 Mod 4 rocket motor
head caps manufactured in accordance with Weapons Specification (WS)
33077A, dated 17 Oct 1997, Drawing 525-174-0130, Revision L. and a
quantity of 8236 nozzles manufactured in accordance with Drawing
525-174-0132, Revision G. In addition, six (6) options for additional
quantities are anticipated as follows: Option I for a quantity of 1200
Head Caps and 2400 nozzles, Option II for a quantity of 180-250 head
caps and 360-500 nozzles, Option III for a quantity of 342 head caps
and 684 nozzles, Option IV for a quantity of 250-1044 head caps and
500-2088 nozzles, Option V for a quantity of 250 head caps and 500
nozzles and Option VI for a quantity of 294 head caps and 588 nozzles.
Estimated award date is 31 Oct 1998. Contractor must be capable of
delivering head caps and nozzles at a monthly rate of 500 and 1,000
respectively. It is anticipated that contractor must start hardware
delivery by 31 Aug 1999. The procurement is set aside 100% for small
businesses. The SIC code is 3764 with a size standard of 1000
employees. The contract shall be awarded based on a best value to the
government considering such factors as Offeror Acceptability, Offeror
Capability (experience, past performance, facilities and equipment) and
