35 -- SERVICE AND TRADE EQUIPMENT SOL RFQ 618-MN-98 DUE 042498 POC Mavis Nelson 612-725-2189 Under Statutory Authority 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(2) and FAR 6.302.2 the Government has entered into sole source negotiated procurement with Getinge/Castle Service Division, Rochester, NY to provide upgrade modernization by replacing the existing Square D Sy/Max Controllers (3) with Modicon Programmable Logic Controllers (3) to three AMSCO Cart Washers installed in 1989. The proposed work is directly related to existing maintenance contract held by Getinge/Castle (V618P-1612a, expiring 9/30/98). The Nutrition and Food Service cart washer is non-operational and requires immediate upgrade; one cart washer in SPD is currently non-operational and requires immediate upgrade. This unusual and compelling urgency precludes full and open competition and delay in award of a contract would result in serious injury, financial and other, to the Government.
