The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, has a requirement for a repair of five (5)to eight (8) Dual Differential Pressure Transducers for use in SSN 688 VLS submarines. The transducers are used to indicate differential pressure between missile and under missile tube hatch. This work shall be performed at the contractor's facility. The contractor upon receipt of the units shall inspect and test for damage and failures. The contractor shall give a failure analysis report and a cost estimate to repair. The contractor shall not commence repair work until the government responds. The Government intends to award a sole source purchase order to Omegadyne, Sudbury, OH, placing a not to exceed (NTE) purchase order using the procedures per FAR Part 12 and 13 for commercial items. Omegadyne is the only qualified vendor at this time who has the authorized design that can be used on the SSN 688 Class VLS submarine. This design is proprietary to Omegadyne. A written solicitation will be issued. Anticipated award date is 6 May 98. Delivery will be F.O.B. destination, Newport, RI on or about 1 July 98. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the government. Telephone requests will not be honored. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed purchase order based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
