This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This notice constitutes the ONLY solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Volpe Center plans to solicit a sole-source simplified acquisition purchase from Unisys Corporation, McLean, VA to provide items to be installed in the UNISYS CTOS III computer system. The items are as follows: (1) NP-25-PE6, CTOS VPC 2.0, 3.5 floppy media, quantity of 32, (2) B25-CV2, CTOSIII Full Package, 3.5" Floppy Media quantity of 40 (3) SG262-C Controller ClusterLan quantity of 30, (4) SG510-A Cable Adapters: Two RJ45 to DB9 Cluster Adapters plus one RJ45 Terminator quantity of 57. This acquisition is approved for a sole source purchase order in accordance a flat panel display for use by with FAR 6.302-1. All interested sources must identify the product by submitting pricing data and anaccurate description of the equipment offered, which includes the make and model numbers. The Request for Quotation number to be cited is DTRS-57-98-Q-80130. The specified part numbers listed above are necessary in order for the new items being purchased to be compatible with the existing CTOS systems. Award: Offers will be received on an all or none basis. If there are no responses received by close of business May 4, 1998, a purchase order will be awarded to the above named source. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-46. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 3571 and the Small Business Size Standard is 1,000 employees. Delivery shall be FOB Destination within 30 days after award of contract to U.S. Department of Transportation, Volpe Center, 125 Munroe Street, Cambridge, MA 02142, ATTN: John Fiorillo, DTS-68.
