DSWA01-98-R-0030 POC Michael Richman, Negotiator, (703) 325-6671, Scott
G. Morton, Contracting Officer, (703) 325-1200 The Defense Special
Weapons Agency (DSWA) has a requirement entitled, "Consolidated
Radiation Environments System (CORES) III." The objective of this
effort is to gather accurate information describing and accessing the
consequences of natural and man-made disasters including those from the
intentional release of nuclear, biological, chemical, and/or
radiological material. Additionally, the existing DSWA human response
model based on symptom-performance algorithms need to be expanded to
include health and operational risk assessments for alpha, beta, and
gamma radiation exposures below 70 cGy; and to account for demographic
variability. These requirements are satisfied in three ways; first,
with the development, verification and validation of computer codes and
data by which such human response and consequences are calculated;
second, with the development of data and software which accurately
represents the response, recovery and sustainability to such radiation
exposures and disaster consequences; andthird, the special application
of these codes to problems of specific interest to the customers, which
requires a unique approach or product. The proposed program continues
the CORES and CORES II effort to extend the existing Consequences
Assessment Tool Set (CATS) to suit the increased customer needs. This
effort will be competed on a full-and-open competition basis. A TOP
SECRET security clearance is required. Please fax requests for this
solicitation to the Contract Specialist, Michael Richman, at (703)
325-9295. For further information contact Mr. Richman at (703)
325-6671. Information on DSWA solicitations, already released, and be
obtained by calling the DSWA Hotline at (703) 325-1173, or through the
DSWA Home Page at www.dswa.mil. Reference solicitation No.
