D -- MAINTENANCE SERVICES FOR CORNET HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE POC Susan E. Crizer, Contracting Officer, (410) 786-5167 The Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) intends to procure, on a sole source basis, with Cornet, Inc., 6800 Versar Center, Springfield, VA. 22151, maintenance services on the following equipment: Cornet Matrix Switch System with a total of 786 ports, consisting of 5 MTX-48 Switch Engines, 48 PCU shelves, 768 assorted high-speed and low-speed PCU cards, 5 Dual Power Supply shelves, 4 fan assemblies, all associated cabling, CorScan 100 Switch Control Software, and 486-class PC as control console. The system is configured as two switches, one with 512 ports and the other with 256 ports. Cornet VF Test/Monitor Switch System with a total of 256 ports, consisting of 8 TMS-32 Remote Control Access Switches connected to the CorScan 100 console and controlled by the CorScan 100 Switch Control Software. Maintenance services are to cover all software and hardware upgrades for a period of one year starting 6/22/98. The switches and PCU shelves and cards are constructed of circuit boards of proprietary design using some standard discrete electronic components and some standard electronic with proprietary programming. These proprietary items are only available from Cornet. If no responses are received within 15 calendar days from the published date of this notice, a purchase order shall be awarded to Cornet.
