E-MAIL: Michael J. Kinkelaar, Michael.J.Kinkelaar@lerc.nasa.gov. NASA/LeRC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Three (3)Microwave Power Modules. The operating frequency range of the Microwave Power Module must include 8 and 12 GHZ and the output power must be at least 100 watts at these frequencies. The input power must be a DC Voltage less than 500 volts. All components must be included in one package for each of the three modules with a mass of less than 1.8 KG and the technology must be adaptable to produce a package with a mass of 550 grams. The module must include control ciruitry for safe turnon and operation of the device. NASA/LeRC intends to purchase the items from Northrup Grumman on a non-competitive basis. Justification permitting other than full and open competition has been prepared in accordance with 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1)(FAR 6.302-1),(NFS 18-6.302). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. An Ombudsman has been appointed. See Internet Note "B". Interested firms have 15 days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 15 days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
